Maron Marvel Continues Strategic Growth in Pittsburgh with Addition of Partner John Lienert
October 21, 2025
Maron Marvel is pleased to announce that John E. Lienert has joined the firm as a Partner in its Pittsburgh office, marking another key step in the firm’s ongoing regional expansion and deepening of litigation capabilities.
John concentrates his practice in toxic tort defense, with a particular focus on asbestos personal injury litigation, and also handles general liability defense across Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He represents a diverse client base including manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, and premises owners involved in complex multi-party litigation.
Throughout his distinguished legal career, John has earned a reputation for his strategic insight, meticulous case preparation, and effective courtroom advocacy. He has argued cases before trial, appellate, and federal courts in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia, and has served as first and second chair in numerous jury trials, consistently achieving favorable verdicts for his clients.
John’s addition follows the arrival of Partner Allyson Bertin earlier this year, reflecting Maron Marvel’s continued investment in building a formidable litigation team in Pittsburgh. Together, their combined experience significantly enhances the firm’s ability to deliver high-caliber representation to clients throughout the Mid-West region.
“We’re excited to welcome John to the firm,” said Terry Schrock, Managing Attorney of the Pittsburgh office. “His experience and reputation complement our growing bench of talent, and his leadership will be instrumental as we continue to expand our footprint in this critical market.”
John earned his J.D. from Ohio Northern University – Pettit College of Law and his B.A. from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
