Associate – Maron Marvel

Branden Brooks is an associate in the firm’s St. Louis office. Branden focuses his practice on defending clients in toxic tort and product liability actions. He also has experience representing clients in breach of contract, trucking, personal injury defense, and premises liability matters.

Prior to joining the Maron Marvel, Branden worked as a toxic tort and asbestos attorney covering Illinois and Missouri matters. He is also a former prosecutor, where he represented the state of Missouri in prosecuting individuals charged with felony offenses within the city of St. Louis, gained valuable experience in both jury and bench trials, argued hundreds of primary hearings to assist the court in making probable cause determinations regarding felonious matters, and presented cases to the grand jury.

Thomas Williams is an associate in the firm’s Wilmington office. TJ is an experienced litigator and brings a unique perspective to his client’s matters. He has extensive trial experience and is able to craft effective legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for his clients.

Prior to joining the firm, TJ served as a Deputy Attorney General for the Delaware Department of Justice where he was a member of the New Castle County Felony Trial Unit. He gained significant written and oral advocacy experience in the state courts.

Jonathan Brehm is an associate in the firm’s New Orleans office. Jonathan has more than a decade of experience in civil litigation, legal research and analysis, trial preparation, and settlement negotiation. He defends clients on claims relating to toxic and mass torts, premises liability and construction liability.

Jonathan also has substantial state and federal appellate experience and admitted to all Louisiana state and federal courts. He achieved favorable client outcomes as second chair at several trials and is an exhaustive researcher who effectively communicates thoughtful and thorough written analyses of legal questions. He tackles each case with tenacity and an analytical mindset, develop and coordinate effective litigation strategies to deliver positive outcomes for clients.

Alex is a dedicated attorney with a robust background in litigation, criminal defense, and creditors’ rights, driven by a commitment to justice and client advocacy. With experience managing over 1,000 foreclosure cases and representing clients in both misdemeanor and felony matters, I have honed my skills in courtroom procedures, mediation, and complex legal analysis.

My legal journey is complemented by military leadership experience, where I conducted investigations and facilitated swift adjudication within the Army’s legal framework. I thrive in high-pressure environments, adeptly balancing caseloads while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Recognized for my innovative approach to legal challenges, I consistently deliver results and contribute to successful outcomes for clients. Kevin Massey is an associate in the firm’s Mississippi office.

Joshua M. W. Salley is an associate in the firm’s Charleston office. Josh is a Husband, Father, and Litigator. He has extensive experience representing clients in complex civil litigation including governmental negligence, civil rights, medical malpractice, products liability, and toxic water/environmental justice. Josh works to innovate by taking his learned life experience and applying it to his client’s legal issues. Josh’s primary goal is to ensure that his client’s receive tailored strategies that fit their unique situation, rather than repeating tired strategies from an old playbook.

Josh received his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy, Institutions, and Behaviors with a concentration in United States policy from Rutgers University, and he received his law degree from the Charleston School of Law.

While in law school, Josh served as the President of the Student Bar Association, President of the Environmental Law Society, and was a member of both the Trial Advocacy and Moot Court boards. In 2019, Josh was recognized by the South Carolina Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers and received the Arthur Gasque Howe Trial Advocacy award. Josh is also a member of the Charleston School of Law Forensics Club, recognizing his demonstrated leadership, professionalism, public service and academic commitment. When Josh isn’t working to mitigate risk for his clients, or solving their problems, he can be found on the beach with his wife Bri and their two daughters, Effie and Farrah, or in the garage “hot-rodding” old BMWs.

Victoria Rodriguez is an associate attorney specializing in litigation and complex commercial disputes with a steadfast commitment to her clients.

Over the past few years, Victoria has represented a wide range of clients, assisting them navigate the legal system in both court and agency proceedings. Victoria’s approach to the practice of law is marked by her analytical rigor and dedication to client advocacy. Jacqueline R. Bolden is an associate in Maron Marvel’s Dallas office.

Chad Hogan focuses his practice on defending product manufacturers, premises owners, contractors, and other businesses, including Fortune 500 companies, in mass tort litigation and general liability matters.

Having represented both individual plaintiffs and corporate defendants, Chad provides his clients with valuable case strategies and efficient resolutions. He is well-versed in all stages of litigation including trial and mediation, where his advocacy and negotiation skills shine.

Prior to joining Maron Marvel, Chad was an associate at a trial litigation firm in Chicago, representing product manufacturers in toxic tort matters and plaintiffs in medical malpractice matters.

Bringing a wealth of diverse litigation experience to his role, Carlos Ramirez is licensed in both the United States and Colombia. Carlos focuses his practice on insurance litigation, personal injury, and corporate defense, including cases involving complex litigation under Texas MDL rules. His legal acumen extends to commercial litigation and intellectual property, with a particular emphasis on antitrust and trademark issues.

Carlos adeptly manages all aspects of litigation, from discovery management to trial representation. He has honed his skills through various roles in bench trials and arbitral proceedings, crafting strategies and executing courtroom tactics with success. His comprehensive approach includes evaluating cases for value and liability, developing legal strategies, conducting and defending depositions, and drafting critical motions, such as motions for summary judgment. He is also proficient in preparing pre-trial motions and coordinating thorough trial preparations.

Carlos built his career foundation through extensive clerkship and externship experiences. He served as a judicial extern to Judge Kevin Burke at Hennepin County District Court in Minnesota and Judge Michael McHale at Cook County in Illinois. He was a legal intern at The Advocates for Human Rights and worked as a legal clerk for the Chief Judge at the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of Bogotá. Before joining Maron Marvel, Carlos was an associate attorney at a Texas-based national law firm.

Beyond his legal practice, Carlos is deeply passionate about education. As a professor at the University of Sabana in Bogotá, he not only imparts his knowledge of the law but also guides his students in understanding the connections and differences between the legal systems of Latin America and the U.S. Through his teaching, Carlos fosters a nuanced understanding of the legal and commercial intricacies of different industries, enriching the educational experience and preparing his students for navigating the complexities of international law.

Jonathan P. Rose is an experienced toxic and mass tort defense attorney specializing in product liability, particularly within the complex realm of asbestos litigation. He navigates the intricacies of the legal landscape, conducting depositions of plaintiffs and fact witnesses with precision and thoroughness.

In addition to deposition work, Jonathan is adept at preparing responses to discovery requests, crafting responsive pleadings, and formulating responses to subpoenas as a non-party. His proactive approach to litigation ensures that clients are well-prepared at every stage of the legal process.

Jonathan also has a strong background in bodily injury claims, particularly in motor vehicle and premises liability matters. He is adept at independently conducting arbitration hearings and negotiating settlements to finality, demonstrating a knack for achieving favorable resolutions outside of trial.

Having regularly appeared before various Courts of Common Pleas throughout Pennsylvania, Jonathan brings a deep understanding of local legal procedures and practices to every case he handles. His courtroom experience is further highlighted by his successful drafting of appellate briefs and confident advocacy in matters before the Pennsylvania Superior Court.

Before joining Maron Marvel, Jonathan practiced for over a decade at several defense firms based in Philadelphia, PA. He also served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Timothy Sullivan of the Blair County Court of Common Pleas.
