Sean C. Maloney

Sean C. Maloney is a dedicated associate attorney who focuses his practice on general liability, transportation, and construction litigation. He represents insurers, commercial motor carriers, local government entities, and construction companies in complex matters in Illinois state and federal courts, bringing hands-on experience managing cases through discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court proceedings. 

Sean is skilled in conducting in-depth legal research and drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, case evaluations, and other litigation documents. He has extensive deposition experience and regularly appears in court for status conferences and motion hearings. His experience also includes serving as monitoring counsel in high-exposure litigation, evaluating extensive case histories, and assisting with witness preparation for trial.  

Sean brings a thoughtful and practical approach to litigation, informed by experience in both private practice and the judiciary. He previously served as a judicial extern with the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Circuit Court of Cook County, where he drafted judicial opinions and memoranda and gained exposure to civil trials, evidentiary hearings, settlement negotiations, and substantive motion practice. He is also a contributing author to the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s Civil Practice publications on jury selection and pretrial conferences.
