Nicholas Grest is a versatile litigation attorney committed to delivering his clients the highest quality work in a cost-effective manner. Nick knows what it takes to build a strong defense moving through each step of the litigation process with care and attention to detail. He has years of experience taking depositions, completing discovery, negotiating resolutions through settlements and mediations, and drafting and arguing successful pleadings and motions.
Nick defends national insurance carriers in general liability cases surrounding motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, premise liability, and construction defect claims. He also has experience defending oil companies and industrial product manufacturers in complex asbestos exposure claims. Adaptable, consistent, and thorough in his work, Nick is a valuable asset to his clients and the Maron Marvel team. His recent successes include:
- Drafting a successful exception of prescription based on when a patient has constructive knowledge of his cause of action, resulting in client dismissal from an asbestos case
- Won a motion for summary discovery in a trip and fall case for a major insurance carrier
- Regularly negotiating favorable settlement amounts for general liability defense clients
Upon graduating from law school, Nick worked in private practice on the plaintiff’s side before assuming the role as a law clerk to Chief Justice Bernette Joshua Johnson, Louisiana Supreme Court. After his clerkship, Nick returned to private practice at a defense firm in Louisiana before joining Maron Marvel in 2020.
