Jessica Shifman

Jessica Shifman is an associate in Maron Marvel’s Chicago office, where her practice focuses on toxic and mass tort litigation matters. She brings experience from government practice as well as plaintiff and defense firms, allowing her to approach each case with a balanced and strategic perspective on case valuation, discovery, and trial preparation.

Before joining Maron Marvel, Jessica served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Cook County State Attorney’s Office, Civil Division, in the Workers’ Compensation Unit. In that role, she managed an active docket and handled all stages of workers’ compensation litigation. Her work included conducting detailed file reviews, evaluating settlement demands, reviewing medical records and work-status notes, drafting settlement offers and contracts, preparing agendas for proceedings before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, and maintaining regular communication with opposing counsel, judges, and Cook County Risk Management.
