David D. Carl

David Carl is an associate in Maron Marvel’s Dallas office where he concentrates his practice on insurance defense and complex civil litigation. He represents insurers and related entities in coverage disputes, regulatory matters, and litigation involving healthcare providers and third-party administrators.

David brings a strong foundation in insurance law, civil procedure, and regulatory analysis. His experience includes drafting a comprehensive memorandum on the Texas Prompt Payment Act, with a particular focus on its application to Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party administrators. He has attended arbitration hearings involving health insurers and Texas hospitals and has worked on multidistrict litigation matters, including developing litigation-tracking systems and researching extraterritorial jurisdiction issues.

David has extensive exposure to federal litigation through judicial externships in Texas federal courts, where he researched and drafted judicial opinions and orders addressing insurance disputes, motions for summary judgment, jurisdictional challenges, and evidentiary issues. He regularly analyzed the Federal Rules of Evidence, observed trials and hearings, and collaborated closely with judges on complex legal questions, strengthening his litigation strategy and legal writing skills.
