Cory Novak focuses practice on the defense of complex toxic and mass tort litigation particularly environmental claims and product liability matters. He has litigated matters throughout the United States, particularly the West and Midwest. His comprehensive knowledge of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and other emerging contaminants is invaluable in navigating the evolving toxic tort laws and policies related to client cases.

Cory has developed a deep understanding of state and federal environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) through representing public and private sector clients.

Before joining Maron Marvel, Cory was an associate attorney at a national civil litigation firm. Rounding out his experience, Cory has judicial and regulatory experience clerking in the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and in the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals. Cory has been published in The Brief, the American Bar Association’s journal for lawyers practicing tort and insurance law, and is a past chair of the American Bar Association’s Government and Private Sector Innovation Committee.
