Bringing a wealth of diverse litigation experience to his role, Carlos Ramirez is licensed in both the United States and Colombia. Carlos focuses his practice on insurance litigation, personal injury, and corporate defense, including cases involving complex litigation under Texas MDL rules. His legal acumen extends to commercial litigation and intellectual property, with a particular emphasis on antitrust and trademark issues.

Carlos adeptly manages all aspects of litigation, from discovery management to trial representation. He has honed his skills through various roles in bench trials and arbitral proceedings, crafting strategies and executing courtroom tactics with success. His comprehensive approach includes evaluating cases for value and liability, developing legal strategies, conducting and defending depositions, and drafting critical motions, such as motions for summary judgment. He is also proficient in preparing pre-trial motions and coordinating thorough trial preparations.

Carlos built his career foundation through extensive clerkship and externship experiences. He served as a judicial extern to Judge Kevin Burke at Hennepin County District Court in Minnesota and Judge Michael McHale at Cook County in Illinois. He was a legal intern at The Advocates for Human Rights and worked as a legal clerk for the Chief Judge at the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of Bogotá. Before joining Maron Marvel, Carlos was an associate attorney at a Texas-based national law firm.

Beyond his legal practice, Carlos is deeply passionate about education. As a professor at the University of Sabana in Bogotá, he not only imparts his knowledge of the law but also guides his students in understanding the connections and differences between the legal systems of Latin America and the U.S. Through his teaching, Carlos fosters a nuanced understanding of the legal and commercial intricacies of different industries, enriching the educational experience and preparing his students for navigating the complexities of international law.
