Brian F. Kolp

Brian is a highly skilled and results-driven civil defense attorney with 15 years of experience in federal and state venues. Brian focuses his practice on defending businesses in a wide variety of cases including general tort liability, premises liability, trucking and transportation, commercial litigation, and environmental litigation. 

Raised on the south side of the city by a Chicago firefighter and an ER nurse, Brian followed his parents into public service and spent the majority of his career before Maron Marvel defending municipalities and their employees in civil rights cases. Brian also worked as a prosecutor for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office where he investigated and prosecuted all classes of misdemeanor and felony crimes. Brian brings his deep Chicago roots and unique perspective as a litigator and investigator to each of his cases, which allows him to understand the mechanics of how an incident would have occurred and how to achieve the best outcome for his clients.

Brian is adept at navigating high-stakes cases and has extensive experience in each phase of litigation. While Brian is a tried-and-true litigator who zealously defends his clients in court, he understands the value of collaboration and makes it a point to keep his clients informed throughout the case to ensure the best possible strategy is being enacted on their behalf at all times.
