Andy Fernandez

Andy Fernandez is an associate in Maron Marvel’s Chicago office where he focuses his practice on insurance defense and related litigation matters. He brings experience supporting all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, motion practice, discovery, and client reporting.

Prior to joining the firm, Andy worked extensively on workers’ compensation matters, drafting master medical chronologies, requests for hearings, and motions for trial, and researched and summarized case law relevant to active claims. He also prepared opinion letters to insurance adjusters analyzing legal issues, medical records, benefit rates, and procedural posture, providing clear and practical guidance for claim handling.

Andy’s prior litigation experience also includes clerkship roles with defense and personal injury firms in Chicago and Miami, where he drafted motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment, compiled discovery materials, prepared interrogatories, and assisted with deposition preparation. Earlier in his career, he worked as a pre-suit legal assistant and reductions specialist, gaining hands-on experience with claim development, client communication, and case resolution.
