Since she was 11 years old, Alexandra Reitzner knew she wanted to be a lawyer. Today, Alexandra has an active legal practice defending insureds in claims arising out of negligence and has experience defending construction, transportation, personal injury, products liability, and professional liability actions. She handles all aspects of litigation, including pre-suit preparation, strategy development, motion practice, written and oral discovery, and trial in both state and federal court. Her trial experience includes obtaining a defense verdict for her client healthcare provider in a complex medical malpractice suit.
Alexandra understands that successfully defending complex cases requires a team approach between outside counsel, in-house counsel, the insurer, and the risk professionals. She is committed to obtaining the best possible results for her clients, whether that means settling a claim early to save the client’s time and expense or defending the client’s interest zealously in court. Alexandra approaches each case with enthusiasm, attention to detail, creativity, and responsiveness. Her ability to understand, organize, and communicate complicated information, along with her interpersonal skills, makes her an asset.
Rounding out her capabilities is her appellate experience. She has written numerous appellate briefs which concurred with her brief to affirm or remand a lower court’s decision.
Alexandra is a cum laude graduate of IIT Chicago-Kent College Law where she received two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for obtaining the highest grade in Federal Civil Procedure and Family Law. As a law student, she was a member of the nationally ranked Moot Court Honor Society which was devoted to the art and technique of appellate advocacy. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa.
