Kate Ó Súilleabháin

Associate

Kate Ó Súilleabháin centers her practice around general liability and toxic and mass tort litigation. She guides her corporate clients through complex exposure litigation, offering strategic advice and best practices throughout the discovery and motion practice phases.

Kate draws from 15 years of legal experience to provide clients with well-rounded, researched-backed defense strategies. Having worked on the plaintiff side as well as the defense in personal injury and multidistrict litigation, she brings a unique perspective and insight to cases at the federal and state levels.

Before joining Maron Marvel, Kate was a research attorney for the First District Appellate Court in Illinois. Her legal background also includes appellate practice, medical malpractice defense, and contract, business tort, securities, bankruptcy, and antitrust litigation. Kate is also a seasoned writer, having contributed to multiple legal handbooks and works published by the American Bar Association and other organizations.

Kate has an active history of pro bono work and was recognized as a Pro Bono Attorney of the Month by Illinois Legal Aid Online for her successful representation of a family in an asylum case. She is currently a volunteer tutor for Tutoring Chicago.
