Following law school, Jim served as a Philadelphia Assistant City Solicitor in the Claims Unit until entering private practice in 1984. For over 20 years, Jim has represented clients and supervised toxic tort litigation on a national level in State and Federal Courts. He also has extensive experience with products liability, silica and ephedra litigation and with professional negligence and construction cases.

Additionally, Jim represents employers in their disputes with employees in Federal Court as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission. He has also continued to represent municipalities throughout his career.

Jim performs Pro Bono services as a child advocate in court proceedings, and has been enrolled in the First Judicial District Pro Bono Roll of Honor. Jim has served as Judge Pro Tempore, First Judicial District (Philadelphia). Jim has been recognized nationally for his Pro Bono work as a child advocate and received the American Bar Association's General Practice, Solo & Small Firm Division "Difference Maker" award in 2011.
